Medical publication professionals in APAC play a critical role in translating global evidence dissemination strategies into locally relevant activities while navigating diverse healthcare systems, stakeholder needs, and resource constraints. However, opportunities to contribute their expertise to publication planning, decision-making, and facilitating regional publication equity may vary across countries, organizations, and career stages with relatively limited resources and clear pathways compared to Global counterparts. This interactive roundtable will explore how professional growth, strategic involvement, and organizational support can enable APAC publication professionals to advance regional publication equity, especially to (1) ensure more equitable integration of regional perspectives into global publication strategies and (2) contribute to patient/HCP-focused communications to ensure they have equitable access to medical information. The barriers, unmet needs, effective practices, and prioritized practical actions to (1) and (2) will be discussed and summarized. Insights captured during the roundtable will inform broader recommendations for advancing publication equity across APAC and globally.
Learning Objectives:
Identify how the roles, strategic involvement, and professional development resources of APAC publication professionals in pharma and agencies vary across countries and career stages and how these may differ from their Global colleagues, including opportunities to contribute to patient/HPCs-focused scientific communications.
Evaluate how individual and organizational factors enable or limit APAC publication professionals from integrating regional evidence, diverse HCP insights, and patient information needs into publication planning, communication, and decision-making.
Prioritize capabilities, organizational practices, and actions that can strengthen strategic participation of APAC publication professionals support equitable medical communications, and inform recommendations for advancing publication equity across APAC.
